Why
should we use you?
Your Wedding Day is unrepeatable. The majority
of wedding video companies are not a lot different
from giving Uncle Charlie a nice new video
camera, and sending him off to record your
biggest day
basically its a gamble,
and the results are very often hugely disappointing,
(especially for the price!). Many companies
have no proper qualifications or experience
in making videos, theyve invested some
money on some new equipment and they start
up a wedding video service, as a weekend job
(The quality doesnt matter, its
only a wedding video). They think nothing
of reusing videotapes, this saves them a pound
or two, but can cause big problems when editing,
potentially causing a big glitch in the middle
of your vows. Theyll also use the on
board microphones, which are just not adequate
for filming a wedding, (you wont notice
how important sound is, until you cant
hear it on your video). Theyll set the
exposure and focus to automatic and hope for
the best
And then theres people
skills
As well as delivering broadcast quality programmes
for 15 years, weve spent many hours
making nervous people feel comfortable and
happy in front of the camera, and we know
exactly when to step in to get that unmissable
shot, and when to shut up and fade into the
background. There are many horror stories
of lost tapes, out of focus, badly exposed
footage and cameramen who just didnt
turn up. Were professional, courteous
and have years of experience which means we
will calmly deliver you a great DVD reminder
of your day, with no added dramas.
Isnt there lots of
ugly equipment that gets in the way?
No. We use small, hand held, Sony PD150 cameras
and small radio mics to capture the day and
keep equipment to a minimum.
How long does the DVD last
for?
An edited DVD will generally be in the region
of 45 - 60 minutes. Compared to a traditional
wedding video this may initially seem a little
short, but lets face it, most wedding videos
are way too long. Each of our videos is carefully
edited to make the most of the day as it unfolds
its the quality and not the quantity
thats important! We can however, for
an extra fee, supply you with a copy of all
of the shot footage.
Can we be involved in the
edit?
To a certain extent. The editing process is
a long complicated affair and having a direct
input is impractical. Obviously we will have
discussed the style and any ideas you have
beforehand and if you strongly object to anything
in the DVD we would address that after the
event, but practically speaking the final
edit must be left to the editor.
What music can we have
on the DVD?
In all cases we obtain a music license on
your behalf which enables you have any music
you require on your DVD. The choice of music
is extremely important to the feel of the
DVD and its something that we will help
you with, prior to the event.
Why are you making wedding
videos if youve made so many TV Programmes?
The honest answer is that I edit and run The
Wedding Documentary Company from home and
see more of my kids as they grow up! |
